Publication process

The International Journal of Islamic Financial System (IJIFS) implements a structured and rigorous publication process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic merit of all published articles. The process consists of the following stages:

Registration and Online Submission

Authors must register in the journal system and submit their manuscripts through the online submission platform.

Preliminary Editorial Screening

The Editor in Chief or Managing Editor conducts an initial review to assess:

  • Compliance with the journal’s scope and aims
  • Adherence to author guidelines and formatting requirements
  • Similarity check (plagiarism screening)

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s scope or exceed the permitted similarity threshold may be rejected at this stage.

Section Editor Assignment

Qualified manuscripts are assigned to a Section Editor who evaluates the academic relevance and readiness of the submission for peer review.

Peer Review Process

The manuscript is sent to independent reviewers under a double-blind review system (if applicable). Reviewers evaluate:

  • Originality and contribution
  • Methodological rigor
  • Theoretical and practical relevance
  • Clarity and coherence

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Revision Stage

If revisions are required, authors must revise the manuscript in accordance with reviewer comments and resubmit within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review if necessary.

Final Decision

The Editor in Chief makes the final decision based on reviewers’ reports and editorial evaluation.

Production Stage

Accepted manuscripts proceed to:

  • Copyediting
  • Proofreading
  • Layout and typesetting

Authors will be asked to review and approve the final proof before publication.

Publication

Once finalized, the article is scheduled for publication in the upcoming issue under the journal’s publish-as-you-go model. The article will appear in the online issue and, where applicable, in the compiled print issue.
