Post-publication Discussions and Corrections

The International Journal of Islamic Financial System (IJIFS) upholds the principles of openness, accountability, and transparency in scholarly communication. This policy affirms the journal’s commitment to enabling meaningful post-publication dialogue and to providing clear procedures for correcting, revising, or retracting published work when necessary. IJIFS adheres to the Core Practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Post-Publication Discussions

IJIFS encourages constructive academic engagement with articles that have been published. Scholars, practitioners, and readers are invited to contribute thoughtful, evidence-based commentary that enhances scholarly discourse within the field of Islamic finance and financial system.

The journal facilitates post-publication engagement through the following channels:

  1. Letters to the Editor. Readers may submit formal letters addressing specific published articles. These letters may contain critiques, additional interpretations, or complementary perspectives. Selected submissions will be reviewed by the editorial team and, when appropriate, published to promote balanced academic discussion.
  2. Article-Based Commentary via Submission System. For security and quality control purposes, IJIFS does not permit direct commenting on its website. All scholarly comments must be submitted formally through the journal’s submission system. This ensures proper editorial oversight and safeguards against spam, misuse, or unauthorized postings.

Corrections, Revisions, and Retractions

IJIFS is dedicated to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of its published content. When concerns arise after publication, the journal will take appropriate action in accordance with ethical publishing standards.

Corrections

If minor errors such as typographical mistakes or formatting inaccuracies are identified and do not affect the scientific validity of the article, a formal correction notice will be issued. The correction will clearly describe the error and present the accurate information.

Revisions

If significant inaccuracies or omissions are discovered that influence the interpretation of the findings, the author(s) may be invited to submit a revised version. The revised manuscript will undergo editorial assessment and, where necessary, additional peer review before publication. The updated article will clearly indicate that it has been revised.

Retractions

In instances involving serious ethical breaches, data fabrication, plagiarism, or other forms of research misconduct that undermine the reliability of the work, IJIFS may retract the article. A retraction notice will be prominently displayed, explaining the reasons for the decision. The original article will remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted.

Commitment to Transparency

Members of the editorial board, reviewers, and authors are expected to comply fully with this policy and to cooperate in post-publication investigations when required. All corrections, revisions, and retractions will be documented and made publicly available to ensure transparency and accountability.

Policy Review

IJIFS periodically evaluates and updates its post-publication policy to ensure alignment with international best practices in academic publishing. Any amendments to this policy will be formally announced and published on the journal’s official website.
